Count Nikolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf, German nobleman, theologian and founder of the Moravian mission movement, lived in the early 18th century. While serving as a young Bishop, God awakened a fresh vision within Count Nikolaus – a vision that cross-cultural mission remained a vital task of the church. The impact of that God-inspired vision has rippled out to the ends of the world, including regions of Australia. The movement was bathed in 24/7 prayer – an astonishing ‘round-the-clock’ commitment that lasted unbroken for over 100 years – and now resurrected by the international 24/7 prayer ministry. We honour Count Nikolaus and the Moravian missionaries, and thank God for the courageous faith they inspire to obey God’s commission with the support of unceasing prayer.
