When midwife Margaret Docking and her husband John first went to Uganda in 2009 to serve in local hospitals, she quickly noticed the urgent need for reproductive health training. Passionate Marg re-envisioned a better future for Ugandan families, and in 2011 founded Wise Choices for Life – an international team of community workers trained to deliver a unique reproductive health program which has supported thousands of men, women and children throughout Africa. After Margaret’s passing in 2021, she was posthumously awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her service to people trapped in cycles of poverty. We honour Margaret Docking and thank God for the courageous faith she inspires to leave a lasting legacy – in her case, one of transformational change through education and community empowerment.
